After Robert’s death, I inherited all of his assets including his real estate business. I’d always planned to sell it. But shortly after Patience’s birthday, I decided it was best to keep it in the family. Plus I needed an excuse to get out of the house for a few hours out of the day. I didn’t know the first thing about running a business so I started off small…I took over all of the bookkeeping duties. The other employees warmed up to me right away. One of them in particular, named Norman, came by to visit my office everyday. I wasn’t sure at first but I thought it may have been because he had a bit of a crush on me. He was a little younger than I was and very kind. Not bad on the eyes either. And sure enough, a few months after I began working there, he asked me out for dinner. And I said yes…
