A whole year had gone by before we even knew it. Where did the time go? The coast guard gave up on their search for Eli about six months ago. Too much time had passed, according to them, and they didn’t have much hope that he was still alive after all that time. But I never stopped looking. It was part of my routine now to go down the docks every weekend and rent a boat. Then I’d take it out to the last known location of Dillon’s boat. When the boys first went missing, only some debris had been found. But right after Millie was born, a couple of divers discovered the rest of Dillon’s boat about two miles down from the surface. There had to be a clue among the wreckage…and I was determined to find it.
