WW 93

I finally did it! After several seemingly endless months and 75,000 words later, I completed my first novel. I sent it in the mail to a small publishing company in a neighboring town and I got a phone call from them the very next day. Within a few weeks, I had a contract and a large check in my hand. Then the next thing I knew, I was at my first book signing at the Lucky Bean Café where I was also asked to read the first few chapters of my book to the crowd that had gathered. Standing up at the podium gave me an adrenaline rush…I knew right then that I couldn’t wait to get started on another novel. “Lost at Sea” would probably never be a bestseller but my fanbase was growing considerably and people were actually interested in what I wrote. I was so proud of myself. But underneath all of my excitement and happiness, my heart still ached. My dream since high school had finally come true…but Elliott wasn’t there to see it.
